Prosencephalon (Forebrain)

Telencephalon 

"Endbrain"

The telencephalon includes the cerebral cortex (neocortex), basal ganglia, hippocampus, amygdala, limbic system, olfactory bulbs, and the lateral ventricles.

Diencephalon

"Between Brain"

The diencephalon includes the thalamus, hypothalamus, ventral thalamus/subthalamus, epithalamus, pineal body, and the third ventricle.

Mesencephalon (Midbrain)

Mesencephalon

"Midbrain"

The mesencephalon is made up of three major regions; the tectum, tegmentum, and basis pedunculi. It also includes the cerebral aqueduct.

Rhombencephalon (Hindbrain)

Metencephalon

"Across Brain"

The metencephalon includes the cerebellum, pons, and the fourth ventricle.

Myelencephalon

"Spinal Brain"

The myelencephalon is made up of the medulla oblongata and the fourth ventricle.
